- The 22nd-28th January 2018 is Cervical Cancer Prevention Week, a European wide initiative which aims to raise awareness of cervical cancer, including information about symptoms, causes of the disease and the importance of prevention, with a focus on cervical screening (the smear test)
- The most common symptoms and signs of cervical cancer are
- abnormal vaginal bleeding
- increased vaginal discharge
- bleeding after going through menopause
- pain during sex, and
- pelvic pain
- Cervical cancer can be diagnosed using a Pap smear or other procedures that sample the cervix tissue.Learn more watching this video
